It took about 2 ½ years for the structure at 2740 Troost to be transformed from a dark, empty warehouse into a bustling and lively place where young people hang out and grow. In May 2009, KCUYC dedicated its Troost facility. Today, the Center offers a wide variety of programs both on-site and in partnership with the housing complex next door. The Troost site is also home to the Center's gardening program during the summer.

The Kansas City Urban Youth Center expanded to its third site at Rosedale Ridge in early 2010 - its first official programming presence in Kansas - and began partnering in small ways to help serve this new community. Rosedale Ridge is an apartment community located at the top of Mill Street in the Rosedale neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas. Transportation challenges and limited accessibility to fresh food give way to hardship for many who call Rosedale Ridge home. Interspersed throughout the community are hundreds of children, single mothers, and senior adults, offering the KCUYC tremendous opportunities to form relationships and to begin sharing a vision of hope and wholeness in this new setting.
