KCUYC serves boys and girls in grades 4-12, and who live in the urban core neighborhoods and areas surrounding KCUYC's three program sites in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS. The Center is situated in Kansas City's urban core, an area that too often struggles with low educational performance, deteriorated and sub-standard housing, and heightened rates of crime and poverty. It is in areas such as this where organizations like KCUYC are most needed.

Approximately 200 youth participate in KCUYC's youth development programs each year. These programs help to demonstrate healthy and positive life choices while encouraging youth to make wise decisions.
