KCUYC Basketball Champions!

More than 20 youth players, along with 10 adult coaches and volunteers, came together as a part of KC Urban Youth Center's two basketball teams that participated in a local church basketball league. Over the course of 6 weeks of league and tournament play, KCUYC's teams learned team work, practiced hard, played well, and made some new friends.
For some players it was their first experience in organized basketball; for others it was another chance to show off their skills. Former player, Gary "Buddy" Caldwell made his debut as coach and led the J.V. KCUYC squad to some exciting victories. The varsity KCUYC team suffered only one loss on their way to capturing the league championship. As always KC First Church of the Nazarene did a great job of organizing and hosting the games and welcoming the players. We all look forward to defending the league title next year!
