Launching the New Building and Offering New Hope

May 6, 2009 marked a special day in the life of the KC Urban Youth Center: the dedication of our new building that will help us better serve the youth in our community. It was a wonderful celebration and we were pleased that so many members of the KCUYC family were there to celebrate with us.

KCUYC Youth Share Gardening with the Wider KC Community
Late in the spring of 2009, students from the KC Urban Youth Center were asked to help plant a garden at
the Church of the Nazarene in Cameron, Missouri. One of the students asked, "Why did they ask us? We don't know
very much about gardening. Isn't there anyone else that knows more?" They soon realized that they know much more
than they thought they knew. Just two years of gardening has given them a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Community Partners Help to Make the Summer Great!
The vast array of activities that have been available to the KCUYC students this year has been possible through the support several local organizations. Two such organizations are Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Calvary Temple Baptist.
